On July 10, 1913 nearby Death Valley, California recorded the hottest temperature in the world (134 degrees Fahrenheit/56.6 Celsius). In order to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the hottest recorded temperature in the world we relit the thermometer on July 10, 2014.
